At The Life is Good Playmaker Project, we are committed to protecting your privacy. We use the information we collect about you to support your learning and engagement journey with us.
This privacy policy for The Life is Good Playmaker Project (doing business as The Playmaker Project) describes how and why we might collect, store, use, and/or share your information. If you are a California resident, please see our Privacy Notice for California Residents.

What Information Do We Collect? How Do We Use It?
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you engage with us by:
- Expressing interest in or applying to Playmaker University
- Using our online learning platform
- Downloading our mobile application, Playmaker University
- Contacting us for support
- Other related ways, including any sales, marketing, or events.
In this Policy any reference to ‘personal data’ or ‘personal information’ is intended as any information that can identify or relate to you as an individual person. The following table explains the different types of personal information we collect and its use.
WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON TO PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
We collect and process your information when we have your consent to do so; to perform our obligations in accordance with any contract that we may have with you; or where the processing is in our legitimate interests and not overridden by your data protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms. In some cases, we may also have a legal obligation to collect Personal Data from you.
Information we receive from other sources.
We will collect the information as described in the table above only where these third parties are legally permitted or required to share your personal information to us. Our third party agreements require that consent is properly obtained from the individual participants.
Consent
By using our Learning Platform, you consent to the collection and use of this information by the Life is Good Playmaker Project. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page, so you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we disclose it.
WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We may share information in specific situations described in this section and/or with the following third parties.
We may need to share your personal information in the following situations:
- Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
- Platform Support. We may allow the support team at Docebo, our online learning platform provider, to access your account if you report a technical problem that we cannot resolve without their assistance. You may access Docebo’s privacy policies here.
- Service Providers. We provide your personal information to companies that provide services to help Us with our business activities (such as processing your payments or for share registry services). These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to Us, in compliance with this Privacy Policy and appropriate data processing terms signed with them.
- Your organization’s Playmaker University administrators. If you’re using Playmaker University services in connection with an organization or academic institution that has a private portal, your company’s own account administrator can have access to some information associated with you and connected with the Playmaker University portal they manage.
- Playmaker University Community. In our community you are able to upload and share comments or feedback publicly with other Playmaker University users. Any information that you disclose in this forum is not confidential, and Playmaker University may use it for any purpose. You should be aware that any information you post openly in these ways will be potentially accessible through third-party search engines. Also, in the Playmaker University Community, your posts might remain accessible (but with your profile information removed where possible) to ensure the correct functionality of the Community.
- Playmaker Project Volunteers. The Playmaker Project has two types of volunteers that we may share personal information with in order to support you on our learning journey, Playmaker Captains and Playmaker Mentors. Playmaker Captains host events both virtually and in their community. We will provide captains with your registration information when you sign up for their events. Playmaker Mentors serve as a support across your learning journey and they will reach out after your kickoff to offer support for you. We provide mentors with your First Name, Last Name and Email address.
- Legal Authorities. We may also disclose your personal data as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process when We believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request. Unless We are prohibited by law, we will notify you of any disclosure requirement.
- Others. We may also disclose your personal data to any other third party with your prior consent (i.e., when you connect Playmaker University services with third-party integrations).
HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
We will retain your information for the time needed to fulfill the purposes described above, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
If your account is deactivated or disabled, your content progress will be saved in the system to allow your return at any time, and any comments/assets you post will remain for others to learn from. You may request your account be deleted at any time. Please note that your comments/assets will disappear and all progress lost.
In case you object to any marketing communications, or withdraw your consent, we will promptly stop using your information collected for these purposes. However, we will keep a permanent record of the fact that you have asked Us not to process your information so that We can respect your request in future.
HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
The safety of your personal information is important to us, and we aim to protect any personal information we process with appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access our services within a secure environment.
DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the Services.
If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS AND CHOICES?
In some regions, such as certain U.S. states, European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), Switzerland, and Canada, you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information.
You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time. If you would like to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can contact us at support@playmakerproject.org. Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our legal terms and/or comply with applicable legal requirements.
You can also choose not to provide us with your personal information. If you choose to do this, you can continue to use the website and browse its pages, but we will not be able to process transactions without personal information.
You can turn off cookies. You can block cookies by activating a setting on your browser allowing you to refuse cookies, or by using the cookie tool on our website. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings. If you turn off cookies, you can continue to use the website, but certain services may not work effectively.
You can ask us not to use your data for marketing. We will inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for marketing and if third parties are involved.
Opting out of marketing and promotional communications. You can unsubscribe from our marketing and promotional communications at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails that we send, or by emailing us at support@playmakerproject.org. You will then be removed from the marketing lists. However, we may still communicate with you — for example, to send you service-related messages that are necessary for the administration and use of your account, to respond to service requests, or for other non-marketing purposes.
Depending on your residency, you may have the:
- Right to be informed whether or not we are processing your personal data
- Right to access your personal data
- Right to correct inaccuracies in your personal data
- Right to request deletion of your personal data
- Right to opt out of the processing of your personal data if it is used for targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects ( "profiling" )
- Right to restrict the processing of your personal information
- Right to data portability
- Right not to be subject to automated decision-making
- Right to object to the processing of your personal information.
Right to appeal
If we decline to take action regarding your request, we will inform you of our decision and reasoning behind it. If you wish to appeal our decision, please email us at info@playmakerproject.org. Within sixty (60) days of receipt of an appeal, we will inform you in writing of any action taken or not taken in response to the appeal, including a written explanation of the reasons for the decisions.
If you are a Virginia resident and your appeal is denied, you may contact the

However, please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy policy.
SOCIAL MEDIA WIDGETS:
Our website includes Social Media features, such as the Facebook Like button, and widgets, such as the ‘Share This’ button. These features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our website, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Social Media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our website. Please read the privacy statement of the company providing these features to understand how your personal data is processed.
DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE?
Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Revised" date and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible.
